Hang tight with MonkeyOh, MonkeyDo

There are tons of gadgets on the market that are either cute or useful, but together they often come up short in one category or another. Enter MonkeyOh, by Felix. It comes up as top banana; pardon the pun, in both categories. Shaped like a monkey, it's a fun little 3-in-1 dock, stand and cord wrap that keeps your desk, table or wall socket clutter free and keeps a grip on your iPhone in either landscape or portrait mode.
How it works is equally simple. Your iPhone slides in through MonkeyOh's arms and it rests on its feet, keeping a snug grip on your iPhone. Slide either the Apple 30-pin or Lightning connector through the cutout between its toes. . Wrap your USB cable around the Monkey's back and fit Apple's cubed power adapter into its backpack. Slide the USB connector through the monkey's mouth into the power adapter and you're ready to plug in. MonkeyOh sits nicely right in the power socket. You have everything there in one compact package.
Landscape or Portrait Mode
When you remove the cable - and power adapter, if you choose, MonkeyOh is a handy stand. It's ideal when using FaceTime or to use on your night table if you use your iPhone as an alarm clock and its rubberized feet won't slide. To use MonkeyOh in landscape mode, for example when you want to watch a movie or maybe play a video game, simply remove your iPhone, pull the monkey's arms apart wide and insert your iPhone.
MonkeyOh is designed to be fully compatible with all iPhone and iPod touch models that use Apple's small cubed power adapter. The stand, (but not the power dock) will also work with non-Apple smartphones like the Galaxy S3 or S4. Special Note: MonkeyOh works best when your phone is bare. If it's in a case, it may still work ok depending on the extra bulk your case adds to you phone's form factor. If it's not a good fit, you'll lose its gripping capabilities. Furthermore, since MonkeyOh is made from a hard polycarbonate, it will bend, but it doesn't actually expand like rubber, so it might be risky to try and pry the arms open too wide to accommodate the case. I didn’t want to press my luck experimenting. This is something to consider before you decide to adopt your little new faux-primate.
When used as designed, MonkeyOh is a fun little item and it’s ideal for a holiday stocking-stuffer that keeps your iPhone, power cable and charger neatly in one place. It's small, only 3"x3.5"x3.5" and lightweight so you can throw it in your backpack or purse.
MonkeyOh by Felix retails for $14.99 U.S. It comes in four colour combinations: Black with Red, Black with Black, White with Red and White with White. It's available directly from the company's site at FelixBrand.Com.
MonkeyDo for iPad
If you like MonkeyOh but you have an iPad and want to give it monkey hugs too, then you might want to consider MonkeyDo. Now MonkeyDo doesn't have the power outlet or cord wrap capabilities, but it's also great as a holder or a stand. It's compatible with all iPads including the iPad mini and likely other tablets or e-readers of the same form factor, given a maximum opening size of 10.5 inches. It's important to note that with smaller tablets i.e. those that are 7 to 8 inches, it works in landscape mode only. MonkeyDo retails for $19.99 and comes in either black with red or the limited translucent “Ghost Edition”.
